Sacristan

Sacristans arrive early to prepare the altar and worship space for Mass. They ensure all the liturgical duties are covered before Mass begins.

Rosary Leader

Rosary leaders pray the Rosary aloud half an hour before Mass begins. Guiding the faithful through the life of Christ helps us to quiet our minds and prepare our hearts for Mass.

Altar Server

Servers assist Father during Mass. Children usually begin serving once they enter third grade. If your child wants to serve, email Michael Stephan. If your child attends Sacred Heart School, email Mrs. Rachel Nelson.

Musician

"He who sings prays twice," is a quote widely attributed to St. Augustine. If you play an instrument or have a lovely singing voice, please share your talent with us at Mass.

Lector

Lectors welcome everyone to Mass, proclaim the scripture readings, and make closing announcements at the end of Mass. If you would like to learn about becoming a lector, email Alan Bina. He will train you if you are new to lectoring.

Greeter/Usher

Greeters/Ushers are usually the first people visitors encounter when they attend Mass. They answer any questions newcomers may have. During Mass, the greeters/ushers collect and secure the offering. At the end of Mass, they help tidy up the nave to prepare for the next Mass.

Presentation of the Gifts

Taking up the gifts at a Catholic Mass embodies the active participation of the faithful in the celebration of the Eucharist. It is also an opportunity for all in attendance to symbolically offer themselves, along with the bread and the wine.

Eucharistic Minister

Eucharistic Ministers have the privilege of offering the gift of Jesus to others, as they assist Father during Holy Communion at Mass. Some Eucharistic Ministers extend their duties beyond the church doors by taking Communion to those who cannot attend Mass. This is our Homebound Ministry; if you know of someone who would like to receive Communion, please contact the parish office, 785-242-2174.
